RECRUITING, SCREENING AND APPLICATION PROCESS
Finding quality care for your children and loved ones can be a great challenge as well as a very stressful process. Our goal at Supreme Nannies Canada is to provide you and the nanny with a stress free experience. We consider the family and the nanny as our client, therefore we support and guide you both throughout the hiring process and beyond.

We care about your satisfaction, and so we maintain excellent working relationships with all our applicants, therefore ensuring the quality care that out agency guarantees. Our nanny and caregiver profiles present personal, character, educational and employment information about the applicant, as well as recent photographs. Some profiles include video clip introductions.


RECRUITING INTERNATIONAL LIVE-IN NANNIES AND CAREGIVERS

We recruit qualified nannies and caregivers from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, and some European countries. We have 2 qualified agents in Macau, and work with affiliate agencies based out of Hong Kong and Taiwan. We also receive many referrals from other nannies and families.  Whenever possible all our applicants are interviewed in person.

Every applicant needs to meet the following requirements:

  • Must have successfully completed the equivalent of a Canadian high school education. (In some countries this is at least 2 years of post secondary education)
  • Must have six months of full-time training in a classroom setting or twelve months of full-time paid employment, including at least six months of continuous employment with one employer in a field or occupation related to the job they are seeking as a live-in caregiver. They may have acquired their training or experience in areas such as early childhood education, geriatric care, pediatric nursing or first aid, or they may also have completed their training as part of their formal education. This experience must have been obtained within the three years immediately prior to the day on which an application for a work permit is to be submitted
  • Must be able to speak, read and understand either English or French at a level that allows them to function independently in a home setting.
  • Must have a written employment contract between themselves and their future employer. The contract defines their job duties, hours of work, salary and benefits.

REQUIREMENTS AND SCREENING PROCESS

    1. Every applicant completes an extensive written application and provides a short autobiography
    2. Provide certified copies or originals of all required documents including educational certificates and transcripts, passport, birth certificate and current employment contract.  All these documents are verified by Immigration Canada.
    3. Must have current police clearances for all countries where they have previously worked and lived
    4. Pass a medical examination conducted by a Canadian Immigration and Citizenship authorized medical doctor.
    5. Be prepared to take a first aid/CPR training course on arrival in Canada.
    6. Pass a verbal English test with a Canadian Immigration Officer.

All work permit applicants are thoroughly screened by Immigration and Citizenship Canada.

T TIME NANNIES AND CAREGIVERS

We recruit qualified local nannies and caregivers. These applicants may be Canadian, Permanent Residents, or they may be in Canada on the Federal live-in caregiver program (live-in only). All our local applicants are personally interviewed whenever possible, and complete a detailed application form.

REQUIREMENTS AND SCREENING

    1. Must be 18 years or older, in some Provinces must be 19 years or older.
    2. RCMP/Police Criminal Record Check if applicable
    3. Legally authorized to work in Canada
    4. Minimum of 1 year related experience
    5. Two contactable work related references whenever possible
    6. Provincial driving record if applicable
    7. Valid Emergency First Aid/CPR certificate, or be prepared to take a first aid/CPR training course within 3 months.
THE APPLICATION/PLACEMENT PROCESS

At Supreme Nannies Canada we want to ensure that the nanny or caregiver we place with your family is the best match possible therefore we consider family needs, experience of the nanny, religious/cultural beliefs, language, and common interests when placing our nannies.

Please read through the following steps for the placement process:

    1. Please complete our on-line family registration form. We will contact you within 24 hours to discuss your family needs and processing times. We may need you to complete a more detailed family application.
    2. Candidates are selected and profiles are offered for your consideration. You can select the profiles tab in the menu to make your own selections.
    3. You choose candidates to interview.
    4. We schedule interviews. If the applicant is local we will arrange an interview at a location and time of your choice. If the applicant is currently working overseas, or in a different Province, City or Town, the interview will be conducted over the phone at an arranged time. We can assist you with interview questions.
    5. You select a nanny and contact us to make the offer of employment.
    6. We complete all the required documents on your behalf, this may include the following:
      • Labour market opinion (LMO) application to the federal government. This is only for foreign live-in nannies/caregivers from overseas and foreign nannies/caregivers already in Canada and who are changing employers. This application takes about 15-25 business days depending on the workload Service Canada at any given time.
      • Employer/Employee contract
      • Employment schedule
      • Other provincial requirements (For Federal live-in caregiver program, only applies to British Columbia and Quebec at this time)
      • Provincial advertising requirements now applicable for all Provinces and Territoires and only when hiring nannies or caregivers on the federal live-in caregiver program.
    7. Positive LMO received from federal government. (Live-in caregiver program only)
    8. Nanny/caregiver will apply for a work permit. This process can take between 10 and 16 weeks depending on the nationality of the applicant and their present country of residence.
